GHANAIAN HOSPITALITY

Ghanaians in general are very wonderful friendly people and naturally accept strangers and visitors who come here, people are not racist or fanatics who reject people from foreign countries with different skin pigments or color, visitors live freely amongst the locals and integrate into the Ghanaian society easily with not much difficulty, and there is no religion fanaticisms, a Ghanaian will like to talk to any stranger of foreigner no matter what race.

This kind of hospitality is unique and second to none in Africa, the hospitality cuts across the whole country and within all the regions, districts capitals, towns, villages and local communities, the local chiefs, queen mothers and elders of a place in Ghana are always interested in receiving people, visitors and strangers from all walks of life, we Ghanaians are ready to help any stranger.

TOURISM SITES DOTTED AROUND GHANA.

Ghana has many eco-tourism and tourism attraction sites dotted in many areas, with some developed or partially working, this include, the beautiful Atlantic sea coast that stretches from the neighboring La Cote De Ivoir   to the Togo boarders, there are fishing towns and villages along some areas of the coast and in between them are some beach resorts, hotels, restaurants and some with nice beaches for swimming and other water sports activities.

Many tourists and business people take time off on weekends and public holidays to rest and entertain themselves to get refreshed and relieve the stress of hard work within their offices and work places. Some of such tourism sites have recreation parks for kids and adults, walk ways, swimming pools are also seen in some of the hotels, guest houses and some have exercise equipment in place.

There are Eco forest resorts and wild parks around for visitors and tourists, these natural forest vegetations with mountains are nice to view, nature has given Ghana her fair share of what makes our world beautiful to live in and to amuse one self.

Ghana has many beautiful waterfalls and Lakes, some of which are crying for investors and poor communities are asking and looking for investors to come help develop them as tourist’s attractions, the locals believe their poor villages could benefit from jobs and royalties that could help them make a livelihood.

Tourism attractions stretch from down south to the up northern sectors of Ghana. Investors have many recreation sites for resting and making themselves happy and will feel at home in Ghana.

ACOMODATION FOOD AND BEVERAGES

There are many category of hotels, resorts and good number of guest houses, local chop bars and restaurants that serves and sell all kinds of food and beverages both local and continental dishes are available, there are also street food vendors around everywhere during day and nights and finding a place to sleep, pass the night, eat or take rest for a drink is not a problem.

LANGUAGES SPOKEN IN GHANA

There are many local languages and dialects spoken in Ghana, but English is the national language, Ghanaians speak the English language as the national language or the least Ghanaian can communicate with foreigners through the pigeon or the broken English and makes communications somehow easy between foreigners and the locals.

CRIME RATE IN GHANA

Ghana has a very moderate crime rate, but petty thieving and stealing across the country can’t be ignored especially stealing and picking of mobile phones, cameras, visa cards, traveling documents and passports are scares and not rampant in some few cases reported. Ghana’s relaxed immigration rules has allowed the influx of many West African and other nationals in and also the economic growth making Ghana attractive for cross boarder crimes, some youths in Ghana are sometimes caught up working with some of these foreigners , but the Ghana police and other state security agencies are on top of issues.

Notwithstanding, our foreign investors will have to be careful with the nice people they meet and friends they make while here in Ghana, armed robbery cases are few and the situation is not very alarming, you will just need to be a little careful, There are hundreds of many international visitors from the USA, UK, Germany ,France, Japan, China etc, etc  traveling and walking around every day and night, some come in as tourists, volunteers and investors or even here to visit friends, scarcely do we read about foreigners being attacked or raped in Ghana, In all. Ghana is the most peaceful country in the West African Sub-region and Ghana has many Christians and followed by the Muslims and Islamic sects they   lives among themselves and with other religious sects in communities, Inter marriages within tribes and sects are common in Ghana.

INFRASTRUCTURE

Ghana has a good infrastructure track record and still developing slowly but studily, Electricity energy has reached 75 percent of the country, power  has extended from the ten regional capitals to all district capitals and now being extended to remote area and of the towns and villages. The three and half years of the present government have seen massive rural electrification projects, this makes it possible for investors to establish industries in some of the remote or rural areas or closer to the raw material locations or base, there are telephone lines and mobile phone provider companies in Ghana ,phone calls are easy to make most of the time.

This makes Internet connectivity facilities possible  in many of the areas and rural sectors in Ghana via telephone lines and wireless systems in place, many Ghanaians browse with their cell phones and lap tops in recent times.

Potable water and bore holes for rural communities, towns and villages in need of water are also an ongoing  projects which makes  it possible for industries to get treated water for their operations, some many more towns and villages still lack treated water and need it badly, as district capitals are almost connected to flowing water taps, water situation is a bit of a challenging issue but there are good streams suitable for industrialist to help develop for the locals as part of their the investors social responsibility to help a community , this would help in assisting Government efforts in trying to provide some of the people’s needs and services.

Ghana’s road net work is being expanded in the cities and towns and existing ones in rural areas are being upgraded in these few years, roads leading into the remote sectors are also receiving attention especially those leading to areas with massive raw materials and human resources are on the country’s priority list for re-shaping and re-graveling.
